Iron in the Snow

The party wakes up in Targos after saving Garret and getting a long night's rest. After a filling breakfast they decide to do a little more digging into the killings and Sephek Kaltro. A little digging leads them to speak to Skath, the town official that oversees the lottery. When asked about it, he fully admits to accepting a bribe from Terren to keep his name out of the lottery. Being an enterprising soul, he sees nothing wrong with this 10gp bribe, and offers the party little more of note.

After poking around the crime scene a bit, the party decides to make their way to Bryn Shander to continue searching for Torg's Caravan. Upon arriving they check out the area Torg's normally occupies, but finds them gone. They find out that they moved on about a day ago, heading to one of the Caers. As they make their way to an inn for lodging, the party is approached by three dwarves: Hruna, Korux, and Storn.

On their way to town with a load of iron ingots, the dwarven party was ambushed by a yeti that tore one of their members to pieces. The dwarves fled, leaving their cargo behind, and now they need help getting it back. And by "help" they mean that they aren't going back out there. After a brief negotiation the party agrees on a price and gets ready to head out the next morning.

A lengthy but rather uneventful trek towards the spot of the ambush leads the party to a grizzly scene - a headless dwarf that has been torn to shreds. One thing they don't see is a sled with the iron...but they do see tracks belonging to a half dozen small humanoids heading off away from the dwarven body. The party takes up the chase and heads out.

Not too long after they come upon a strange scene: six goblins heaving and hauling the heavy sled across the snow, heading towards a large wagon hitched to two giant polar bears. The goblins are a little preoccupied and the party gets the drop on them - Golkum decides to try some "forced diplomacy" and fires a bolt near the goblins, scaring the crap out of them. As they run and try to hide behind the sled, Thorburn tries to shoot the straps holding the bears to the wagon.

At this point a one-eared goblin pops out of the top of the wagon and tries to diffuse the situation. Her name is Izobai and she isn't looking for trouble, just a way to feed her folks and get paid. The iron means nothing to her and she's happy to trade it for something from the party. After a little digging around, Jamekas offers up a few art pieces that tickle her fancy and they make the trade.

The party heads back to Bryn Shander, meeting the dwarves at Blackiron Blades. They are overjoyed, and happily pay the party the agreed upon price, along with an added bonus: 10% off at Blackiron Blades. The party rests up and decides to make their way back to Bremen to secure some mounts - it's axe beak time!

See you all next session.
